How we review casinos
How we review casinos
We review casinos using regulator registers and operators’ own published sources. Each review links facts to their evidence and shows sources and checked dates.
Sources we read
We read the UK Gambling Commission public register, Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) register, Anjouan Gaming register, Kahnawake Gaming Commission, Spelinspektionen in Sweden, and iGaming Ontario / AGCO. We use RDAP for domain registration data.
For operator information, our primary sources are the operator’s own terms, help centre and promotion pages. These sources support facts about ownership, sister casinos, withdrawals, bonus terms, restricted countries and payment methods. We use the regulator’s public register for licence details and status.
Third-party review sites and sister-site lists are leads, never sources for facts. Public complaint numbers are readings from AskGamblers, Trustpilot, Casino Guru, Reddit and Sitejabber, with the date we read them. We report each as reported on that platform as of that date. News-only items without an official source are dropped.
Evidence records and fact states
We store each fact with the exact quote it relies on, its source URL and retrieval date. We keep a stored snapshot of every source page with a SHA-256 hash. The build rejects a fact if its quote is not found in that snapshot.
Our internal fact records distinguish operator statements, register findings, source conflicts and incomplete checks. Reviews publish sourced findings; research notes stay in the internal records.
Every page lists numbered Sources, each with its retrieval or checked date. Every page shows an Updated date and carries dateModified in its JSON-LD. Updated is the date the page was last rebuilt from its fact records. A rechecked fact gets a new retrieval date in Sources.
The machine-readable files /casinos/[casino]/facts.json and /casinos/[casino]/evidence.json record facts with their quote, source URL and retrieval date. The first serves fact-check brands; the second serves review casinos.
What we check in casino profiles
Our page set includes a review hub titled “[Casino] Review (Year): Legit? Licence, Owner, Withdrawals & Complaints”; “Who Owns [Casino]? Owner, Licence No. & Sister Sites”; “[Casino] Withdrawal Pending? Times, Limits, KYC & What to Do”; and “[Casino] Bonus Terms: Wagering, Max Bet & Max Cashout Explained.” Legal pages ask “Is [Casino] Legal in [Country]?” for selected markets.
A review hub gives a one-line verdict, key facts, licence and register check, owner and sister casinos, withdrawals, bonus terms, complaints pattern, restricted countries and FAQs. The page puts its answer in the first sentence, includes a key-facts table and numbered Sources with checked dates, and shows an Updated date. Its title includes the year.
We record the licence regulator, number, holder, register status and register link; owner or operating company; and sister casinos. A sister casino is included when the same licence or company appears in a register or in the operator’s own terms.
Withdrawal fields include times stated in the terms, limits per day, week or month, minimums, casino withdrawal fee details and KYC triggers. Bonus fields include wagering, max bet, max cashout, expiry and excluded games. We also record restricted countries, complaints readings, regulator warnings, fines and blocks, payment methods and the one-line verdict.
Each fact has its own source and state. A source’s silence is recorded as not stated, not as proof that a condition does not exist. Profile facts come from the regulator’s register or the operator’s published pages.
Negative-findings search
We make a separate negative-findings search for each casino. It covers a licence that is missing, expired or revoked; a licence number not in the register; regulator warnings and blacklists; fines and enforcement; domain blocks; court and insolvency records; and lookalike or clone domains.
We also search for withdrawal caps, instalment clauses, pending times, withdrawal fees and KYC required only at withdrawal. Bonus checks cover max bet clauses that void wins, max cashout and irregular-play clauses. We search account closure and inactivity-fee clauses, public complaint counts and recurring complaint types.
A negative finding states the observation, source, date and scope. We drop news-only items without an official source. Not finding a record means we searched and found no match in the sources checked. It does not state that no such record exists elsewhere.
The search is a separate step for each casino. It covers both licence and enforcement records and terms that affect withdrawals, bonuses or accounts. We record the outcome against the source checked and the date, so the page states what the search supports.
Complaints and payout testing
We read public complaint counts on AskGamblers, Trustpilot, Casino Guru, Reddit and Sitejabber and record the date read. Counts are readings from those platforms, not our own findings about how many complaints exist in total. We describe them as reported on the platform as of the date read.
We identify recurring complaint types only when the readings support them. The profile states the platform and date alongside the reading, so the reader can see when and where the count was reported.
Payout testing is not performed. We do not deposit, play or withdraw. Review pages say so. Withdrawal times and limits come from the operator’s published terms or other primary sources, not from a test transaction.
Verdict rules
A verdict is one line of no more than 70 characters and uses one of these forms: “Legit, but …”, “Licensed, but …”, “Avoid if …” or “Use if …”. It is built only from facts on the same page and names the main gap, such as an unknown owner, long pending time, tight bonus terms or unresolved complaints.
We use the words scam, fraud or fake only inside a regulator or court quote. A flag states the observation, source, date and scope. The verdict does not go beyond the evidence recorded on that page.
What we do not do
We do not take bets, use affiliate links or tracking redirects, or perform payout testing. We do not treat third-party review sites or sister-site lists as sources for facts. Our reviews use records from public registers and operator sources.

Rechecks and corrections
Reported changes trigger a recheck of the relevant terms or register record. Each rechecked fact receives a new retrieval date in Sources, and corrections state what changed.
Operators can add an official response alongside the relevant fact, labelled as the operator’s statement.
